In this training, you will be introduced to the fundamental elements of an IVUS image and learn how to make sense of the image on the screen. It will cover the following topics: understanding grayscale, layers of the vessel, anatomical landmarks, and artifacts.

• See how different shades of black, white, and gray on an IVUS image relate to the composition and characteristics of vessels and lesions.
• Identify the layers of a vessel in healthy and diseased arteries.
• Recognize key anatomical landmarks seen on IVUS images and differentiate between veins, side branches, and other extravascular structures.
• Be aware of some of the most common artifacts that can interfere with proper image interpretation and know how to address them.
